VAAP Launches a New Logo to Reflect the Heart and Strength of the Profession

The Virginia Association of Addiction Professionals (VAAP) is proud to unveil a new logo that marks both a visual transformation and a renewed commitment to the addiction workforce across the Commonwealth. The new design is bold yet thoughtful, signaling a future-forward direction while honoring the deep roots of the organization and the professionals it represents.

“We wanted the logo to reflect the strength, professionalism, and heart of our membership,” said Jessica Swan, VAAP Board President. “It was essential to honor our legacy while showcasing the leadership, innovation, and integrity we bring to the field today.”

The rebrand was the result of a collaborative, months-long process. VAAP leadership and long-standing members contributed feedback through every phase of the design journey. Their insights shaped a final product that balances tradition with progress.

“Everyone wanted something that felt true to our roots but also representative of who we are becoming as a profession,” Swan said. “Ultimately, the Board of Directors approved the new logo unanimously.”

At its core, the logo serves as a visual representation of VAAP’s values: compassion, excellence, and service. It’s meant to feel like a badge of honor for the dedicated professionals who support individuals and families affected by substance use disorder.

“We want every addiction professional in Virginia to see themselves reflected in it: dedicated, ethical, evidence-based, and deeply committed to recovery and wellness in their communities,” said Swan.

The updated branding comes at a time of organizational growth and innovation. Alongside the logo launch, VAAP is preparing to debut a refreshed website, roll out new training opportunities, and expand its advocacy efforts.

“The new logo is just the beginning,” said Swan. “We’re investing in ways to better serve our members—through technology, communication, and professional development.”

For those who feel connected to the former logo, Swan offers reassurance:

“This update is a tribute to how far we’ve come and a statement of confidence in where we’re going together. The colors, the themes, and the integrity remain. This new design doesn’t replace our history—it builds on it.”

With a renewed look and expanded initiatives on the horizon, VAAP continues to stand as a professional home for those shaping the future of addiction recovery in Virginia. Learn more at www.vaaddictionpros.org.
